Germany's role in the internationalization of higher education

Well here is opinion #1 from our friends at the DFG:

On Research Marketing

Four large research and research funding organisations have come together for the first time in a joint project called “International Research Marketing” and have developed a joint marketing concept to improve the international visibility of top-class research in Germany. The project has been financed by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) and Research since 2010. The organisations promoting Germany as a research location at home and abroad are the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation (AvH), the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG, German Research Foundation) and the Fraunhofer Society. This strategic collaboration in research marketing combines and uses the core competencies, international expertise and networks of all four partners.

The range of joint measures and activities is large and varied and includes network conferences for research alumni, ideas competitions, the German High-Tech Champion Competition, workshops, international conferences, information tours, delegations, press trips and attendance at international career fairs in tandem with German universities and research institutions.

This joint project has allowed the framework conditions for systematic, coordinated and concerted publicity and promotion for Germany as a research location to be created for the first time. All the activities undertaken by the partners are part of the BMBF research marketing initiative branded “Research in Germany” which draws support from a number of different sources.

And here is what the DAAD has to say on that!

Higher Education Institutions in Germany

The DAAD funds the development and introduction of high-quality, internationally competitive study and research programmes for qualified foreign students, (post)graduates, academics and researchers who, for their part, contribute to the outstanding teaching and research offered in Germany. The DAAD also encourages the creation of hospitable frameworks for foreigners (status and work permit legislation, guidance-counselling, and much more) and helps higher education institutions position themselves in the international “education market” by carrying out information and advertising campaigns. Germany can only maintain and develop the quality of its academic, science and research institutions by working together with the best foreign students, (post)graduates, academics and researchers.

Round the year schooling, longer day - I don't

by FriendofFargo

Believe in dumping anyone - everyone NEEDS and DESERVES a first rate education and we need first rate technical schools for kids who don't want to go to college or lack the ability - akin to those in Germany
schools need to deemphasize Sports and put all the focus on academics. instead of a focus on team sports, push physical fitness for all students

Top engineering universities in UK?

So i am thinking about to get admission in undergraduate so i want to go Malaysia and get the degree of UK or you suggest where i go to take the degree which is very useful in practical life

Is a credible UK university ranking for engineering. All undergraduate admissions to UK universities are via a central government agency called UCAS: option would be Germany - but there are only very few programs that are not in German. The quality of engineering education is very high though, and tuition fees are extremely low.
